Thatcher Hotel
Hopland, California, 2019
Featured Medium: History
The historic Thatcher Hotel is an 1890 Victorian beauty with 18 sumptuous rooms and delightful common areas. The project involved a substantial remodel both inside and out, the construction of a café and outbuildings, and re-imagining of the surrounding grounds.
Medium Plenty was engaged by the Thatcher hotel owners, each of whom brought their own significant talents to the project. One is a renowned craftsperson working in concrete and the other is an experienced developer. The result was a true collaboration with our team in the areas of design, interiors, landscaping, branding and operations.
A holistic design approach melded history with the present. Original details were preserved, and then interwoven with modern elements. The result is a beautifully revived hotel that expresses itself as a unique and welcoming destination. It pays homage to its historical roots, the town of Hopland and the vibrant countryside.
